I enjoy YouTube, searching and learning about new paper-craft ideas to try myself, and I found some really interesting ones. As my cousin (Patrice) said to me “who needs college when there's YouTube.” I loved it!! And total agree! Any who, my first project to share with you guys is a great way to update those stamps we love so much. I get bored with the one dimensional color stamp so I went to my "college" YouTube and found an awesome way to updated and use those stamps in a Kre8tive way.
First I took the stamp of choice. Here is a stamp from studio g I picked up at Walmart! Only $.97!!!
I took the stamp and I pressed a purple pigment ink (also studio g from Walmart for $.97) until it was fully covered. I pressed it to my surface of choice. Here I just did plain white paper to show the effect. Then take a GOOD colored pencil, I used PRISMACOLOR, they are the best, colored in small areas of the stamped image. Do not color the entire stamped area. Now you are ready to work in your blending tools. I'm using Fantastix fine tip brush. Just dip your blending tool into a very small amount of OMS (Odorless Mineral Spirit). Do Not soak the blending tool into the solvent! Now you can take your blending tool and start to move the areas where you have put colored pencil and move the color around the stamped areas. I started working from darkest color to lightest color and rubbing my brush clean between each color change.
Here's the finished look!
Here's another stamp I did with just one color.
Now you can add this to any card or scrapbook page.
I hope you got something out of this quick tutorial and can use it in your upcoming craft projects. Thanks guys!
